Which of these images best describes your website?

No judgment—I promise! We’ve all been there. Don’t believe me? Check out the Wayback Machine. (Yep, the internet really is forever.) But times change. Priorities change. You’ve changed. (In a good way, I’m sure!)

If you’re wondering whether it’s time for a new website, the answer is probably: “Hell, yeah!”

Relax, you’ve come to the right place.

I’m Barb Kopecek, and I’ve been building websites with my partner, Dave, for over 20 years. I take your ideas—whether it’s a color, a logo, or just a vague “make it look nice!”—and turn them into something real. Something functional. Something you.

Sure, there are plenty of DIY website builders out there (WordPress included), but they can be overwhelming—and most small business owners don’t have time to start from scratch.  Or maybe you do have a site, but it’s ancient, tough to manage, or no longer reflects your business. If it predates “mobile-friendly,” it’s definitely time for an upgrade.

No stress. No tech headaches. Just a website that works beautifully. Let’s make it happen.

How it works and what you can expect.

Step 1

Acknowledge the flaming mess on your hands.

You’re here, right? Check that off the list! I told you this would be easy. Seriously though, I’ve seen it all, and your site probably isn’t that bad. But that doesn’t mean it couldn’t use a little love. We all need love.

No shame. No guilt. Just acceptance. Let’s move on…

Step 2

We'll schedule a virtual coffee chat.

Shoot me an email at barbara.kopecek@gmail.com, and we’ll set up a Zoom call. We’ll chat about your hopes and dreams (for a website), what’s working (or not) with your current site, and how involved you want to be in the process (see Step 3 for more on that).

After our meeting, I’ll whip up a proposal outlining the project scope and deliverables. If you’re ready to take the leap, I’ll get to work!

Step 3

You'll send me everything you've got.

Photos, videos, content, logo, favorite colors—send it.

“But what if I’m starting from scratch?” you ask. No problem! Send me links to websites you love (or hate), and I’ll blend up a custom design just for you. Need a logo? I’ve designed those, too. Need help with content? I can write or edit it. Basically, I’m a one-stop shop.

Step 4

The warm fuzzies test.

Based on our chats and whatever assets you’ve provided, I’ll create original designs and send them your way. You’ll tell me what you love (or don’t), and I’ll tweak until it feels just right.

This step can take a little time, but we won’t move forward until you give the green light. Once you do? You get to relax while I build out your site.

Step 5

(Drumroll, please...) The big reveal.

We’ll hop on a call, and I’ll give you a tour of your shiny new website. If anything needs tweaking, we’ll sort that out. Then, if all looks good, we’ll set a launch date (not to be confused with a lunch date—but if you’re in town, let’s do lunch, too!).

Step 6

Three, two, one...blast off!

Launch day arrives, and suddenly the world seems brighter. Food tastes better. Your friends and colleagues notice something different about you. “New haircut?” they ask. “New glasses?”

Nope. You’re just the proud owner of a gorgeous new website.

Fun fact about me.

Bet you'll never guess!
In a former life, I wrote creepy YA novels for teens—and for adults who still love a good scare.
What platform do you use?

I primarily build websites with WordPress using Divi, a drag-and-drop visual builder. Need something more robust? Check out my partner at Aisle8—he specializes in Drupal, which is great for complex, high-traffic sites.

What if this is my first website?

Starting from scratch? No problem! First, we’ll need to secure a domain name—which can be tricky since many are already taken. Don’t worry, I’ll help you brainstorm variations, register your domain, and renew it annually so you don’t have to lift a finger.

Can I maintain my own website?

Absolutely! I’ll provide a one-hour training session plus handy Quick Start guides I’ve created just for my clients. You’ll be up and running in no time.

Can you keep my site updated?

You bet! Many of my clients have better things to do with their time—you probably do, too. I’m happy to handle updates and keep your content fresh at an hourly rate.

Where will my website live?

We offer competitive hosting, so your site can live on our secure servers. If you already have hosting, you’re welcome to stick with it, or I can move your site over. The benefit of hosting with us? If anything goes wrong, you can contact me directly—no waiting on hold with a random support team.

How much is this going to cost?

I believe in creating beautiful, functional websites at a range of price points to fit different needs and budgets.

  • A simple brochure site costs less than a full e-commerce store.

  • A one-page landing site is more affordable than a multi-page website.

Some budget-conscious clients start small and add features as their business grows, while others with established businesses go for “the works” from day one.

What's your favorite pie?

Lemon meringue! You?

I know what you’re thinking.

Yes, my site is a little kooky—but yours won’t be. (Unless you want it to be! In which case, I’m guessing we’d get along pretty well. No pressure.)

But let’s assume you’re looking for something tasteful and professional. Below is a selection of websites I’ve designed for my clients. I’m also happy to provide references if that’s your thing.
